According to the Boston Herald, “Pro Bowl safety Ed Reed called Edelman a “great receiver.” Cornerback Chris Carr called Edelman a “very good player.” Baltimore coach John Harbaugh said Edelman runs the underneath routes as well as Welker, which is saying something considering most of Welker’s league-leading 123 receptions came on short routes. But the greatest compliment came from Ravens corner Frank Walker.
‘They basically have the same guy in Julian Edelman,” Walker said of Welker’s absence. “We felt like they weren’t going to miss Welker that much.” Look, (Edelman) had two touchdowns today and there isn’t much more you can do. He had a great game.’”
